Cloth Face Masks are Now Recommended by the CDC

The CDC recommends that you wear cloth face masks in public settings, while also urging that high grade masks and equipment be reserved for medical personnel. Healthcare workers interacting with coronavirus patients or suspected cases will follow CDC recommendations to wear the N95 respirator mask, along with other precautions like gloves and eye protectors.

Although it’s not currently a requirement to wear cloth face coverings on the UCI campus, campus officials strongly encourage wearing face masks on campus as well as frequently washing hands, social distancing, and following the CDC guidelines.
